Hello Everyone and Welcome to Lone Oak Southeast Nebraska Horse Training and Rehabilitation. Formally known as Lone Oak Horse Rescue.
For those of you who are frequent visitors to my website, first I would like to say Thank You, second I know you have noticed some changes to the website. After 27 years in the Horse Rescue field I have decided to pursue different avenues in my life. I loved rescue with a passion but with "Rescue Politics" and the increase of horses, the lack of programs so to speak to stop the backyard breeders and the decrease of peoples abilities to work together in the Horse Rescue arena I have just decided I have better things to do then participate in the cut throat world which I believe has been created by greed.
Do not get me wrong, there are some wonderful rescues still out there and they work hard and follow there hearts. I wish them the very best of Luck and keep them in my prayers. As for the rest that claim to be rescues I will pray for the horses.
Helping horses has been my calling since I was a little girl and I "rescued" my first horse (an orphan foal) when I was 12 years old and continued until this year. I will never stop helping horses I just can't that is why I have decided to completely switch over to horse training and rehabilitation. I firmly believe a horse doesn't have a fighting chance if it is not properly trained. I have witnessed thousands of horses go through a auction ring that would have went to private owners instead of being loaded on the slaughter truck if someone had just taken the time to train them!!
Which brings me to the slaughter issue. Do I believe in Horse Slaughter-NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!! I will continue to fight to have horse slaughter completely stopped so that horses do not have to travel across U.S. borders to an untimely and horrible death. However, I do believe in humane euthanasia. There will be a completely different page on this issue.
So as I say goodbye to horse rescue I look forward to having the time to train and rehabilitate horses so that they can be sold to private owners and live a useful life.
Thank you to all of you who have supported me through the years, through the good times and the bad and still continue to believe in me as I follow my passion for horses.
God Bless
Wendy
