Euthanasia
One of the most difficult dwcisions you will ever make is telling a loved one goodbye. The best information I have found on the subject is http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/vetext/INF-AN/INF-AN_EMERGEUTH-HORSES.HTML however I will put my two cents worth in and say I do not believe in the captive bolt method for any reason as slaughter of equine is neither humane or an acceptable form of euthanasia.

Costs of Euthanasia
Euthanasia by bullet- Expense of ammunition-burial approx. $160.00 if you hire a backhoe for the burial site. **Please make sure that you are able to bury your horse on the property in which you chose to lay them to rest.
Vet injection Eutanasia- this pretty much depends where you are at and whether the vet comes to you or you transport the horse to the clinic and whether you have the vet despose of the horse or you bury them. I have checked out prices everywhere and in my search prices have ranged from $135.00 to $487.00 I have yet to come across any super high prices but I am sure that they are out there. **Also please keep in mind that when you ask your vet to dispose of your horse it is more than likely going to be hauled to the closest local landfill and you will be charged for that**
Cremation-After the death of your beloved horse I have come across a few places in which you can have your horse cremated....
