I have decided to do this page in green because it happens to be Tandra's favorite color but we'll get to her later. I was scanning the horse ads one day on the web when I came across a big beautiful Tennessee Walker by the name of Amigo. Something about that horse caught my eye and I contacted the lady that owned him. Well to make an extremely long story somewhat shorter the fine lady named Barbara K. ended up shipping Amigo with the help of some friends and former owners of Amigo from California to Nebraska. He arrived in the middle of the night it was cold and windy and he was all bundled up in this big warm trailer. I walked into the trailer he looked at me a little puzzled and weary from his trip(there were layovers inbetween) I rubbed his shoulder, kissed his muzzle and said "Welcome to Nebraska my ol Man" That is how Amigo got to Nebraska-now here is his story. Amigo was born and bred to be a show horse and that is what he was purchased for but it was soon apparent that something just wasn't quite right. Then the devistating news-Amigo has Wobbles. Oh my that my friends is a true death sentence for a horse. Luckily, Barbara believed enough in Amigo to send him to a home where he could live comfortably for however long he had. I have never seen a horse with more spirit more orneriness more mischevious in nature and turn on the charm to the point that he is absolutely irrisistable. He would throw his tail up and to the side in his paddock or the round pen and just STRUT HIS STUFF!!!! There would have been no way he could have ever been beaten in the show ring. He is nothing but style and personality. Well I ran into some problems with my stud horse before I sold him and I felt things were just getting way to dangerous for Amigos sake-with his condition there was no way I would even tempt fate at all. Along comes Tandra and Kent. They fell in love with Amigo right off the bat. So Amigo found his safe permanent home at KTS Lone Cedar Rescues. He is now the top banana and has been for a while. He went through a spell where we thought this was going to be his last year with us but Tandra changed his feeding regimen and he perked right up and took his place at the front of the line. Amigo now goes by the name of Amigo KPasa and he is the BIGGEST treat junky you will ever meet. He still has awesome personality and quite a since of humor. Amigo came to stay with me during the summer to stay out on a big grass pasture. I walked out to check on him and the others one day and was carrying a burrito(that was my lunch-thanks Amigo)anyway, i was petting him and another one of my rescues and I felt a sharp quick tug and I looked down and then at Amigo. He was chewing half of my burrito with bean juice running down his chin. I asked him what he thought he was doing and he gave me the biggest horsey smile you ever saw shook his head at me stuck his tail in the air and promptly pranced off. Little Devil!!!! Thank you to Barbara for sending Amigo to us and thank you to Tandra and her family for taking Amigo in and giving him what at the time I could not. Amigo is the high light of the day and when he finally has to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge I guarantee you there will not be a dry eye from any of us and he will be missed terribly. It often amazes me that something so simple can touch a persons heart so deeply and leave such a lasting impression. So here's to you Amigo and your quirky little ways of pulling our heart strings. Ol Man you will never really know just how much you are loved.
Just a quick note-Amigo is 7 years old most horses with Wobbles have to be put down before they are 2.
